Roost at the Mill

SHOUT OUT FOR OWLS!

SEND YOUR MACRAMÉ OWLS TO ROOST IN OUR WINDMILL!

Our aim is to get the most macramé (or crocheted / knitted / felted) owls displayed upstairs in the windmill in Rottingdean. The owls will be part of Roost at The Mill - the Art Rovers annual event and exhibition at Rottingdean, Beacon Windmill on the 20th & 21st of July this year.

Our art and craft event is embracing the heritage of home crafts - Macramé Owls are a symbol of something from a past time but in living memory. Handmade with care, two branches and some beads, they are a mixture of the whimsical, wild and woolly! Each owl represents time spent following the pattern, getting each knot and stitch in place.

Every owl counts! You can even send us your odd jobs and misshapen owls, they are welcome to roost with us.

About the location:

Just outside of Brighton, The Rottingdean Windmill is a landmark historic wooden building on the Sussex coast, a real gem and great place to visit. Looked after by Rottingdean Heritage.
